Muddy Waters: An Insider’s View of North American Native Spirituality
by Nanci Des Gerlaise.

Muddy Waters clearly sets forth the absolute contrasts between Native American Spirituality and the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Born into a Canadian Métis family, Nanci Des Gerlaise struggled through years of dysfunctional relationships before discovering the freedom of the pure Gospel, unadulterated by mixtures of spirituality, animism or Roman Catholicism.

Dream-catchers, sweat lodges, shamanism—Are these popular words just part of an innocent multiculturalism? Can Christians practice Native Spirituality without compromising their walk with Christ? Or is it actually a dangerous occult religious system?

Native Spirituality is part of a vast movement that is shifting North American culture away from a Biblical view of the world and absorbing it into a broad pagan worldview. The book exposes the current awakening and popularity of occult concepts and techniques in our culture generally, and this expose is applicable to some of what is happening in many churches, i.e., through the “Emergent Church” movement, and in the world of the New Age or “interspirituality” movement. In other words, the spirituality this book warns against is the age-old evil of the occult just dressed up in another garb.

This is the first book written that I know of to expose the truth about Native Spirituality. It was written out of love for her people and I pray that the truths in it will help many people out of the bondage they are in and to a saving faith in Christ Jesus!

What a farcical load of blather-even more of a farce is that a financial windfall was generated by this for the author. One need only look at the history of Christianity to rightfully surmise that it has a multitude of demons to deal with before casting the first stone. Televangelist's with their circus sideshows of "seed money" , "prosperity doctrines", sexual scandals and exsposed planted shills who are healed. The great tenets of love that promulgated the infamous boarding schools , genocidal policies and abduction of indigenous children. Common practice for Protestants to try and seperate themselves from this history by pointing the finger at the papacy that seats itself on a throne fashioned from blood and abuse in Rome, but the truth of the historical record is that they participated as well. And what will they do to address their history-follow Rome's lead and issue apologies? Wannabe physician heal thyself. Christianity began with a lone visionary who surrounded himself with a faithful few and died for it. They were for all intents and purposes nomadic and poor in stark contrast to the bloated aristocracy of the mondern ministry surrounded by a fawning adoring congregation who are so far removed from the original concept as to be laughable. Our spiritual leaders don't receive salaries or perks or build television ministries "for the glory of God" and then wallow in the riches of it. I think your personal belief would be well served if you first cast the mote from your own collective eyes and maybe by doing so avoid becoming the generation of vipers spoken of.
